Marking vs. Engraving

What is the difference? You may hear people use the terms interchangeably but there is a difference. Marking is simply just as it sounds. A permanent surface mark that you can see but you can’t really feel. Generally, marking will be the lower cost option most of the time. Engraving then brings depth to the material that you can see and feel. Because of this, engraving will generally cost more due to the material needing to spend more time on the machine for multiple passes.
